Dr. Sharih graduated from the University of Karachi, Pakistan, in 2000 obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. Following his graduation, he moved to the USA and completed his residency training in Pediatrics in a renowned hospital in Central Chicago at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, USA, from 2003 till 2006. Following his residency training, Dr Sharih further pursued a three-year Fellowship in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine at Lutheran General Hospital and Lutheran General Children’s Hospital, USA. Furthermore, Dr. Umair is an American board-certified physician in Pediatrics since 2007, and he holds membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Dr. Umair Sharih has more than 20 years of experience in pediatrics. Prior to joining Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Sharih worked at the American Wellness Center, Dubai, UAE, as a Consultant Pediatrician. Dr. Sharih’s scope of practice includes well-child check-ups, routine check-ups, immunization and developmental screening, ADHD assessment, sick visits for all conditions that require immediate attention from mild to severe intensity, specialized and intensive care not limited to asthma, rash, dehydration, fever, weakness, and headaches, newborn care, feeding and nutrition, sleep patterns, and prenatal assessments.
During his tenure in the United States, Dr. Sharih served as a Personal Consultant Pediatrician to the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia and Deputy Ministry of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Private Affairs – Royal Clinics from 2018 to 2019.
