Dr. Gunda obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Osmania Medical College, India. He completed his postgraduate training in Paediatrics at institutions across England, Wales, and Scotland. Dr. Gunda specialized in Neonatal Medicine at a tertiary unit in Southampton, UK, and was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) – Neonatal Medicine, UK. He is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH).
Dr. Gunda has 14 years of medical experience specializing in Neonatology.
Dr. Gunda has extensive experience in managing critically ill and premature newborns, including extreme prematurity, neonatal sepsis, congenital malformations and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). He has worked in advanced neonatal intensive care units in the UK and India and has significant experience in neonatal transport, NICU surveillance, and ethical and palliative care. Dr. Gunda is actively involved in medical education, simulation-based training, and research, and has contributed to improving patient safety and quality outcomes in neonatal care.
Prior to joining Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Gunda worked as a Consultant Neonatologist in tertiary neonatal units in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Gunda’s scope of practice includes management of extreme prematurity, neonatal sepsis, congenital malformations, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, advanced neonatal resuscitation, neonatal transport, NICU surveillance and providing ethical and palliative care for critically ill neonates. and simulation-based neonatal education for healthcare professionals.
