Dr. Ahmad qualified in 2003 with an MBBCh from the University of Cardiff, UK. He has been a Member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) since 2011. Dr Ahmad completed his specialty training program at Health Education England, from 2008 till 2018 and has trained at many of London’s centers of excellence including Royal London Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and Evelina Children’s Hospital. His pediatric training includes experience in cardiology, neurology, nephrology, neonatology, surgery, intensive care, and major trauma. Upon completion of his training, he was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine in 2018.
Dr. Ahmad completed a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Advanced Pediatrics from King’s College University, London. His specialist module was in critical care and trauma. His research project aimed to determine children who can safely avoid CT scans after blunt abdominal trauma. He is passionate about improving clinical care and has academic work published and presented at national and international conferences.
Dr. Ahmad has 20 years of medical experience and 18 years of specialist experience in Pediatrics. He is joining us from St. George’s Hospital, London, United Kingdom, where he was a Pediatric Emergency Consultant and Head of Department. In his new role at Danat Al Emarat Hospital, Dr. Ahmad will be working as the Head of Pediatric Emergency and Urgent Care.
Dr. Ahmad also has 15 years of senior leadership experience in the charity sector, having founded and developed an international children’s charity with projects in East Europe, Asia, and Africa.
He has a keen interest in organizational development and improving operational effectiveness. He has delivered team performance and personal development programs for clinical staff.
