Dr. Irshad Ahmad Waheed obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He also completed a Master of Surgery in Orthopedics (MS Ortho) and a Diploma in Orthopedics (D Ortho).
Dr. Irshad has extensive experience in Orthopedics, having worked at several prestigious institutions across the UAE. His clinical expertise includes managing both adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including trauma, infections, and deformities. Dr. Irshad is highly experienced in limb deformity correction using external frames and internal lengthening devices, bone transport procedures, ligament reconstruction, and arthroscopy.
Dr. Irshad has subspecialty expertise in the evaluation and management of traumatic, congenital, developmental, and neuromuscular conditions in children. He is also skilled in hip ultrasonography for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), Ponseti casting for clubfoot, and the management of foot and ankle conditions, including flat feet and clubfoot.
Dr. Irshad has been recognized with multiple awards throughout his career, including being twice awarded the Best Expatriate Physician under SEHA Best 100 Employees in 2018 and 2019, and Best Employee of Al Rahba Hospital in 2005, 2006, and 2010. He has also been recognized for achieving outstanding patient outcomes, including a feature in a national publication for the successful management of a near-amputation case. Dr. Irshad is actively involved in academic activities, having participated as a speaker at national and international orthopedic conferences and co-authored articles published in reputable medical journals.
Prior to joining Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Irshad worked at Global Care Hospital, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Irshad’s scope of practice includes adult and pediatric trauma, congenital and developmental musculoskeletal conditions, neuromuscular disorders, bone infections, osteoporosis, limb deformity correction, clubfoot and flat foot management, newborn screening hip ultrasound, back pain and scoliosis, and arthroscopy.
Dr. Irshad has more than 30 years of medical experience in Orthopedics.
