Dr. Khankan graduated from Damascus University, Syria in 2006 obtaining her Doctor of Medicine degree. Following her graduation, she then moved to the USA and completed her training in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron, USA from 2010 till 2013. Dr Khankan carries two American board certifications in Pediatrics in 2013 and Pediatric Hospital Medicine in 2019.
She specializes in the care of children who are admitted to the hospital with common pediatric illnesses or have multiple medical problems, making sure they receive well-coordinated, compassionate care. Dr. Khankan is also experienced in pediatric sedation required for imaging or procedures that do not need general anesthesia.
Dr. Khankan has nearly 13 years of experience in Pediatrics. She is joining us from Akron Children’s Hospital, Ohio, USA, where she was a Pediatric Hospitalist.
In her new role at Danat Al Emarat (DAE), Dr. Khankan will be working as a Pediatric Hospitalist.
Dr. Khankan presented her research titled “Obesity is not an independent risk factor” at the International Society of Sedation conference in May 2013, Houston, TX, and awarded the “best in-trainee research award”.
