Dr. Andrew Ives studied medicine at the University of Cambridge, and Imperial College London, in the UK. He completed Pediatric Respiratory Specialist training at the Royal London Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospitals in London, UK. He also did 2 years of research at the Royal Brompton Hospital, working with children with Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. Dr. Andrew gained his certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) in 2010 and is a registered and accredited specialist in children’s respiratory medicine.
He trained for 3 years at the Royal Brompton hospital – this was under the world’s leading authority in pediatric pulmonology Professor Andrew Bush.
Dr. Andrew Ives, Pediatric Pulmonology Consultant at Danat Al Emarat Hospital, has more than 17 years of pulmonology experience in many leading hospitals in the UK, including 10 years as a consultant and senior clinical lecturer at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He has expertise and experience in treating children with all respiratory problems, including asthma, cystic Fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, respiratory issues in neurological/neuromuscular disease, conditions requiring tracheostomy or non-invasive ventilation, wheezing disorders, pediatric sleep disorders, chronic cough, pneumonia and empyema, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease.
Dr. Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics in the UK. He is also a member of the British Pediatric Respiratory Society, the British Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society.
