Dr. Abid Qazi earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1990 from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Following graduation, he completed an extensive residency training program in Pediatric and General Surgery at the Children’s Hospital (Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences), Pakistan, spanning from 1991 to 1997. Subsequently, he achieved the distinguished title of Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1997.
Between the years of 2004 and 2011, Dr. Qazi worked in the United Kingdom, during which he underwent specialized training in Pediatric Surgery. Following the successful completion of his training and the attainment of an Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Qazi was then granted a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). In 2022, he was additionally honored with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Upon returning to Pakistan, Dr. Qazi dedicated five years to serving as a Pediatric Oncology Surgeon in a busy cancer hospital.
Dr. Abid Qazi has over 32 years of experience in General Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Surgical Oncology, and Pediatric hepatobiliary surgery.
Prior to joining Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Qazi worked at the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, Dubai, UAE, as a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon.
Dr. Qazi’s scope of practice covers solid tumor surgery including wilms tumour, liver tumour, neuroblastoma, laparoscopic fundoplication, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, scarless appendicectomy, laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, biliary atresia surgery, ultrasound-guided vascular access for children, dialysis access peritoneal or vascular for children, and urological and vascular access service for renal transplants.
