Dr. Sengupta obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from R.G. Kar Medical College, University of Calcutta in 1984, followed by a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DGO) from Calcutta Medical College in 1989. He holds multiple prestigious fellowships, including Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS, Edinburgh), Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI), Diplomate of National Board (DNB, India), Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG, London), and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI).
Dr. Saumitra Sengupta is a highly accomplished Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with over three decades of extensive experience in the United Kingdom and the UAE. He joins Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Childrenfrom Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital, where he served as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology specializing in Feto-Maternal Medicine (FMM).
With a deep focus on Feto-Maternal Medicine and high-risk pregnancy management, Dr. Sengupta brings extensive expertise in the management of Diabetes in Pregnancy (Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnancy), Hypertensive Disorders in Pregnancy (HDP), advanced obstetric ultrasound and fetal anomaly scanning, labour ward leadership, and one-stop outpatient gynaecology services including hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, and ablation procedures. He is also actively involved in teaching, training, and clinical auditing, having contributed to the professional development of numerous medical students and junior doctors throughout his career.
Dr. Sengupta has presented and published his work widely at international conferences including the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists World Congress (RCOG), British Maternal and Fetal Medicine Society (BMFMS), and the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), and has served as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Southampton. He is passionate about advancing maternal and fetal care through clinical excellence, research, and education.
