Dr. Nadia is a UK board-certified Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with 18 years of experience. She has worked at renowned tertiary centres in the UK including Manchester University Hospitals, Liverpool Women’s Hospital, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Nottingham and Derby University Hospitals.
Dr. Nadia obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Quaid-I-Azam University, Pakistan, in 2001. She then underwent specialty training program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Health Education England - North West, United Kingdom from 2008 to 2020. Dr. Nadia has trained at many of London’s centers of excellence including the Leighton Hospital, Countess of Chester, Arrowe Park Hospital, Warrington Hospital, Liverpool Womens Hospital, Macclesfield Hospital, and Wythenshawe Hospital. Upon completion of her training, she was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2020. In addition to completing the UK certificate of consultant training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr Nadia also holds MRCOG from Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), UK. Dr Nadia worked as a consultant at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, UK.
Dr. Nadia strives to provide women with evidence-based management choices and believes in shared decision making individualised to each woman’s circumstances. She has vast experience of offering pre-pregnancy counselling, managing all sorts of high-risk pregnancies and labour for women with complex medical conditions or multiple prior abdominal surgeries including but not limited to caesarean sections, myomectomies, bowel resections, renal transplant etc. Dr Nadia is experienced in cervical assessment with ultrasound scan and in performing Mc Donald and Shirodkar cervical cerclages when indicated for preterm birth prevention. An avid believer in normality of labour, Dr Nadia supports women keen to have normal birth after previous caesarean section as well as those with prior traumatic birth experiences. She focuses on providing holistic care to women by acknowledging their physical as well as psychological or spiritual needs.
In addition to obstetrics, Dr Nadia manages women with menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain, endometriosis or adenomyosis, polycystic disease and menopausal symptoms. She has a keen interest in providing care to women with early pregnancy complications including ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or molar pregnancy as well as those who present in emergency department with ovarian cyst torsion or pelvic abscess. She helps couples choose appropriate short term or long-term reversible contraception and performs laparoscopic / open tubal ligation where appropriate. She is fully trained to remove uterine polyps, fibroids, adhesions, or septum through hysteroscopic route and perform endometrial ablation in women with heavy periods who have completed their families. She can manage ovarian cysts, fibroids, adhesions in pelvis / abdomen laparoscopically and perform abdominal / vaginal or laparoscopic hysterectomies. She manages women with prolapse conservatively as well as surgically.
Prior to joining Danat El Emarat, Dr Nadia was working as a consultant at Corniche Hospital where she provided planned as well as emergency care to women presenting with high-risk pregnancies or gynaecological issues. She has wide surgical expertise which enables her to perform complex caesarean sections, instrumental deliveries and cervical cerclage to prevent preterm birth. Dr Nadia performs advanced laparoscopy and hysteroscopic procedures as well as open abdominal or vaginal surgeries where appropriate.
Dr Nadia has special interest in management of infertility and has completed RCOG UK’s advanced training skill module in management of subfertility. She can perform gynaecological / early pregnancy scans, investigate ovulatory / tubal / uterine / male factor infertility and manage the same alongside fertility team to help couple achieve their desired fertility. She managed couple with recurrent pregnancy loss at Corniche Hospital.
Dr Nadia has a keen interest in teaching and training the future generation of doctors and midwifery staff. She holds the unique privilege of being the educational supervisor of RCOG’s first ever trainees outside UK. She successfully supported and monitored the progress of her trainees into next training year.
