Dr. Fatema Alhajeri has 27 years of medical experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Alhajeri obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. She then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetric and Gynecological Ultrasound from Cardiff University, UK, and obtained the Saudi Board in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Alhajeri has been involved in medical education and academic activities, including lecturing at local and international conferences, moderating ultrasound workshops, contributing to medical publications, and contributing to the international ultrasound encyclopedia VISUOG. She has also contributed to the Saudi Hysteroscopy Guidelines. In addition, Dr. Fatema has been involved in healthcare leadership, clinical governance, quality improvement programs, CME organization, and accreditation preparation activities. She holds an Executive Master in Healthcare Administration and has experience in healthcare management.
Prior to joining Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Fatema Alhajeri worked as a Consultant Physician at Corniche Hospital, UAE.
Dr. Alhajeri’s field of expertise includes general gynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, laparoscopic procedures including diagnostic laparoscopy, laparoscopic management of ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cystectomy, bilateral tubal ligation, myomectomy, hysterectomy, infertility evaluation, and adhesiolysis. Her expertise also includes hysteroscopic procedures such as diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, endometrial polypectomy, submucosal fibroid resection, septum resection, endometrial ablation, and hysteroscopic infertility evaluation. She specializes in office gynecological procedures including office hysteroscopy, colposcopy, sonohysterography, cryotherapy for cervical lesions, dilatation and curettage (D&C), cervical procedures, and outpatient fertility investigations. Her expertise also includes obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound, including early pregnancy ultrasound, ectopic pregnancy diagnosis, gynecological ultrasound, 3D gynecological ultrasound, infertility ultrasound assessment, endometrial and uterine pathology imaging, ovarian pathology evaluation, one-stop clinic approaches, and ultrasound teaching and workshop moderation. Dr. Fatema also has experience in cosmetic, aesthetic, and regenerative gynecology, reproductive medicine, early pregnancy and complex pregnancy disorders, emergency obstetrics and gynecology, and management of acute gynecological conditions.
Dr. Alhajeri’s scope of practice includes gynecology, including the evaluation and management of gynecological disorders, abnormal uterine bleeding, menopause and perimenopausal care, contraception counseling and management, infertility evaluation, pelvic pain assessment, management of ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy, and endometrial and cervical pathology.
