Dr. Attia obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University, Egypt, in 1999. He subsequently completed his Residency in General Surgery at Zagazig University Hospitals, Egypt, and obtained his Medical Doctorate in General Surgery from Zagazig University Hospitals, Egypt. Additionally, Dr. Attia completed a Fellowship in Breast Surgery at Zagazig University Hospitals, Egypt, and further enhanced his surgical expertise through specialized training courses in Laser Surgery in the UAE.
Dr. Attia has extensive experience in general surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal and colorectal procedures, breast surgery, and anoproctology. He has incorporated laser technology into general surgery and anoproctology procedures, utilizing advanced techniques to support surgical care. Dr. Attia has also held leadership responsibilities, including serving as Head of Department at NMC Royal Hospital Mohammed Bin Zayed, where he contributed to the development and delivery of surgical services.
Prior to joining Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Attia worked as Head of Department at NMC Royal Hospital Mohammed Bin Zayed, UAE.
Dr. Attia's scope of practice includes minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, gastrointestinal and colorectal procedures, hernia repair, gallbladder and appendix surgery, emergency general surgery, surgical excision procedures, and anoproctology services. His clinical practice includes the evaluation and management of hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal fistulas, pilonidal sinus, anorectal abscesses, anal warts, pruritus ani, and rectal prolapse. He also provides breast surgery services, including the diagnostic evaluation and management of breast conditions, breast cancer surgery including lumpectomy and mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary surgery, male breast surgery including gynecomastia management, and postoperative care and follow-up.
