Education

Dr. Kattan graduated from Damascus University, Syria in 2003 obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree. Following his graduation, he moved to the UK to pursue his foundation medical training and further specialty training program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Health Education England Yorkshire and the Humber School of O&G Deanery working across various hospitals in the UK such as Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital, Dewsbury and District Hospital, Calderdale Royal Hospital, Bradford Royal Infirmary, and Mid Yorks NHS Foundation Trust from 2010 till 2017. Upon completion of his training, Dr Kattan was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

He has also undergone and satisfactorily completed several accredited Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSM) in Urogynecology and Vaginal Surgery and Advanced Labor Ward Practice in 2017 and Benign Gynecological Surgery: Hysteroscopy and Benign Abdominal Surgery: Open and Laparoscopic (2011) in 2018.

Dr. Kattan has been a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist since 2015.

Experience

Dr. Mohammed Kattan has 13 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is joining us from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, United Kingdom, where he was a Consultant in Urogyne and Benign Gynecology. In his new role at Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Kattan will be working as Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urogynecology.

Dr. Kattan’s scope of practice covers Vaginal Prolapse and Pelvic floor repair Surgery, Medical and mesh free stress urinary incontinence surgery including Bulk amid, Laparoscopic Colpo suspension and autologous facial sling, medical and surgical treatment urge urinary incontinence including cystoscopy and Botox injection for overactive bladder, outpatient ambulatory diagnostic and therapeutic cystoscopy clinics, urodynamic clinic. Benign Gynecology clinics, diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy including endometrial ablation, transcervical resection of endometrial polyps and fibroids, endometrial resection, and endometrial ablation surgeries, adnexal surgery including laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, medical treatment for chronic pelvic pain, laparoscopy investigation and treatment for chronic pelvic pain, open myomectomy, Hormonal and non-hormonal coil insertion, gynecological biopsies, vulval and vaginal lesions and lumps excision, dilation and curettage (D&C), hysterectomy laparoscopic and abdominal, endometriosis surgery, menstrual problems, including polyps removal, fibroids, and outpatient treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding.
