Danat Al Emarat Hospital welcomes 12 newborns in the first few hours of UAE National Day

Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi, part of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical) welcomed 12 newborns during the first few hours of the 49th UAE National Day. With the National Day newborns, the total number of newborns delivered at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi has reached 21172 since the opening of the hospital on October 2015 of which 10994 were boys and 10178 girls. Out of the total, 11339 were Emiratis. Those precious bundles of joy were managed by Danat Al Emarat’s team of over 200 obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, midwives and nurses. The hospital expects to welcome another 7 babies by end of today.

Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi, which was decorated with the UAE flag to mark the occasion, has welcomed its first newborn for the family of Mr. Saeed Ali Malik Al Shehhi, Emirati, at 00:13 am on 2 December 2020, the 49th UAE National Day. The father said, “Here we are today celebrating both the birth of our child and UAE National Day. We have named our newborn Zayed and he weighed 3.65 Kg. Baby Zayed and my wife are in good health thanks to Allah. Our celebration today is doubled with his birth and the National Day. Thanks to my wife’s physician, Dr Maysaa Safi, Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialist and the Danat Al Emarat team for the care they have been providing my wife and child, especially during these of COVID-19 pandemic. The hospital has applied very strict precautionary measures throughout our visits to the hospital and today during the birth of my child, and we appreciate their efforts in providing continuously high-quality care to all patients.”

The second baby boy was born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi at 1:45 am for a Saudi Emirati family of Mr. Mr. Abdullah Saad Al Menhali. The father said, “We named our newborn Khalifa. He is in good health thanks to Allah. He is our fifth child. Waiting for him are his four siblings, Nahyan, Alwalid, Hajar and Salem. Having him born today has doubled our joy as we all celebrate the UAE National Day. The baby and his mother are in good health. The due date was on 9 December, but with Allah’s will he has joined our National Day celebrations today. Our celebrations today are doubled.”

At 2:45 am, family of Mr. Omar Faisal Buhamaid Al Tamimi, Emirati, welcomed their newborn girl at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi. The father said, “We have named her Latifa. With Allah’s blessings, we welcomed our baby on UAE National Day, a very special and dear occasion to our hearts. She was due on 10 December, but has joined us today to double our celebrations. The baby and mother are in good health thanks to Allah. She is our first baby. We would like to thank Danat Al Emarat for the care my wife and baby received especially during these times ensuring continuity of care to all pregnant women and newborns and beyond. Special thanks go to my wife’s obstetrician at Danat Al Emarat Dr. Ban Al Chalabi. We are indeed happy to meet our baby today, wishing happiness and good health for everyone.”
At 3:06 am, the fourth newborn at Danat Al Emarat Hospital was for an Emirati British family. His father, Mr. Fahed AlBusaidy, said, “We are thankful for Allah’s blessings. We were blessed today with our fourth child; his 3 brothers (Naser, Nawaf and Saif) were waiting for him. We are truly blessed to have him too on UAE National Day, a very special day to our hearts. I would like here to thank Danat Al Emarat Hospital and Dr. Sura Zwain, Obstetrics & Gynecology Consultant for their care and professionalism during my wife’s pregnancy journey and the birth of my child. We have named him, Suhail. Happy UAE National Day to our beloved country. Our joy is truly doubled!”

The fifth baby at Danat Al Emarat was for an Emirati family who was born at 4:15 am and weighed 2.89 KG. Mr. Abdullah Mohammed said, “Thanks to Allah our joy has been doubled today with the arrival of our first child Mohammed. We are overwhelmed that he joined us on the 49th National Day and we wish our leadership, government and people of UAE continuous prosperity and safety.”

As for the sixth child born at Danat Al Emarat on National Day, she was to an Emirati family and was born at 6:49 am. Her father, Mr. Khamis Muhammad Al-Abdouli said, “We named our baby girl Salma, and she and her mother are in good health, praise be to God. The birth date of my daughter Salma coincided with the first hours of the National Day of our beloved Emirates, as our joy for the arrival of our new baby combined with our country’s celebration of the happy National Day.”
