Five newborns were welcomed at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi during the first 12 hours of 2017. The first baby girl born in 2017 was born in the second minute of the new year while the second one was born less than 8 minutes later.
First baby born 2 minutes after midnight was a baby girl. The father, Mohammed Shahin Al Mazrouie said, “We named our newborn Latifa. Her birth on this special day was a surprise for us, and now the memorable occasion is doubled for us. We are truly thankful for this blessing.”
The baby was delivered by Dr Rihan Saafan, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecology at Danat Al Emarat hospital. Dr Saafan said, “the 2.5 kg baby decided to join the family on this special occasion for all and double the joy of her parents. Both baby and mother are in good health.”
Family of Mr Alay Raza welcomed their daughter at 00:10 am of 1st January 2017. The baby is the first for the family. Mr. Raza said, “We named her Sayeda Fatima, she was due to be with us on 28th December, but she waited for another three days to join us on this very special day. She weighed 3.41 kg and was delivered by Dr. Shakeela Irfan, Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology at the hospital.”
One of the babies, weighed 3 Kgs and was born at 10:41 am. Mr. Ammar Al Khaja said, “Our new bundle of joy is the ninth for the family, and we named him Khalifa.”
The fourth baby, was born at around noon time. The father, Saif Rabih Saleh Al Mazrouie, said “he was due to join us in four days, but joined us today on this special day of the year of giving.”
Vino Nallaya, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children said, “We are happy to welcome five newborns during the first hours of 2017 at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children. All 5 babies and mothers are doing well and are in good health. With our 5 newborns today, 2156 babies have been born at our hospital since we opened in October 2015 of which 1440 were UAE Nationals. In total, we had 1122 boys, and 1034 girls. All these precious bundles were managed by our 55 medical team members of obstetricians, pediatricians and neonatologists, and we expect to welcome another 5 babies by end of today.”
The hospital distributed flowers for all patients who are spending the new year day at the hospital.
