The team consists of over 10 consultants and specialists in neonatology and over 40 NICU nurses.
Premature babies, born before the 37 weeks of pregnancy, are usually smaller in weight, and may require breathing and nutrition support depending on their gestation age. Out of the 20,000 newborns welcomed at Danat Al Emarat since its opening in October 2015 until June 2020, around 1900 were premature and were admitted to our NICU. Other newborns were born after 37 of gestation and were required admission to NICU for other medical reasons.
The Center is led by internationally trained neonatologists, pediatricians, surgeons and specialized nurses and supported by a vast range of medical/surgical specialties forming a comprehensive approach to delivering the best care for our young patients.
