15 June 2018, Abu Dhabi: Total of 350 newborns during the month of Ramadan

Seven newborns were born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi during the first few hours of first day of Eid Al Fitr.

The first baby (Emirati) was born at 12:35 after midnight the first day of Eid Al Fitr and weighed 3.5 kg. Mr Majed Ahmed Al Awbathani, the father, said “The birth of our baby during first day of Eid was a surprise for us, and now the memorable occasion is doubled for us. She is our first baby and we have named her Fatima. We are very thankful for this blessing. From here, we would like to congratulate UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE on this very special day.”

Baby Fatima was delivered by Dr Tina Kokalj, Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialist at Danat Al Emarat Hospital. Dr Tina said, “The baby was due in a week but with Allah’s will she joined the family on this special occasion for all and doubled the joy of her parents and ours. Both baby and mother are in good health.”

The second baby was born at 3:09 am and weighed 3.5 Kg. His father, Mr. Hussain Saleem Ayedh Al Menhali said, “The baby is in good health and we have named him Sultan. We are extremely happy to have him join us during the early hours of Eid Al Fitr. We would like to congratulate UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE on this very special day.”

Baby Mayar was the third baby born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital during the early hours of Eid Al Fitr. She was born at 3:31 am, and weighed 3.33 kg. Her father, Engineer Abdulla Ghanem Alseiari – Emirati, said, “Baby Mayar is our third baby – she has a brother and sister who have been waiting for her. Born on Eid, our celebration is now doubled. We were expecting her last week, but with Allah’s will she joined us on first day of Eid. And on this occasion, we would like to congratulate our UAE leaders, government and the Islamic Nation on this holy occasion.”

Mariano Gonzalez, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, part of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical) said, “During the Holy Month of Ramadan, a total of 350 were born at our hospital, including 170 boys and 180 girls. Out of the 350 newborns, 179 were UAE Nationals. We also welcomed 12 twins and 1 triplet during the Holy month.”

“Including our 7 newborns born at the hospital after Eid was declared and until the early hours of first day of Eid, a total of 7981 babies have been born at our hospital since we opened in October 2015. All these precious bundles of joy were managed by our 70 medical team members of obstetricians, pediatricians and neonatologists. We expect to welcome another 5 babies by end of today,” Mr. Gonzalez concluded.

The hospital distributed flowers and gifts for all patients who are spending Eid Al Fitr at the hospital.
