Clinical Research & Training

Danat Al Emarat Hospital is accredited by Department of Health (DoH), Abu Dhabi to conduct clinical human subject research as an accredited Scientific Medical Research Center in Abu Dhabi.

Danat Al Emarat Hospital has advanced departments that support scientific research, including internationally-accredited laboratories, the neonatal intensive care unit, fetal medicine unit, minimally invasive gynecology, bariatric surgery, pediatric neurology, pediatric gastroenterology and pediatric surgery and many other subspecialties. We also collaborate with our sister facility, Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi for retinopathy of prematurity screening for all premature babies and newborns, in addition to our early screening programs including heart problems in newborns; which we include as one of our research studies.

The hospital also collaborates with key medical institutions and universities in the country to conduct medical researches and exchange expertise.

Danat Al Emarat is also accredited a training center for students of different specialties. The hospital has received over 200 students in 2018, 2019 and 2020 in different departments across the hospital and clinic.

One of our first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed for students training was with Fatima College of Health Sciences in 2018 to collaborate in training students and attracting graduates from Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiology and Physiotherapy Departments at all UEMedical different facilities including Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, HealthPlus Fertility Centers, HealthPlus Specialty Centers and Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi.

In 2019, Danat Al Emarat Hospital signed a cooperation agreement with Al Khwarizmi International College aiming to accept the students of Al Khwarizmi College to be trained at the hospital’s different departments, in addition to cooperating in joint training programs, scientific conferences and research.

Some of the other key MoU’s signed with key universities in UAE in 2020 include Mohammed Bin Rashed University to promote academic exchange, clinical training and collaboration in healthcare education and research as well as training their medical students.

Moreover, the hospital signed a MoU with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) to partner with them in the development of the students’ capabilities in the areas of health sciences and related services, providing HCT students with training and internships in all UEMedical facilities in addition to other activities for both parties’ mutual benefits.

The Hospital also signed with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) to cooperate, facilitate and strengthen the Bachelor of Science program in Speech Language Pathology that’s newly launched by UAEU; and will contribute in clinical training of students and research activities.
