In cooperation with Department of Health, Abu Dhabi Danat Al Emarat Hospital is thrilled to announce its first healthcare hackathon (Preg-a-thon) to be held on 26-27 February 2021. Themed “The Road to Safe Pregnancy Hackathon”, the hackathon aims to bring together interested researchers, students, and practitioners to form a community around an innovative resource to finding solutions to manage pregnancy complications.

The focus of this 48-hour hackathon is on 3 pathways

  • Prevention - Screening programs, create awareness & analytics.
  • Early Detection - Early diagnosis & patient support.
  • Prediction - System management & risk management.

Reputed local and international speakers will discuss a range of topics with a focus on creating a solution through prediction model/AI to support Danat Al Emarat in managing pregnancy complications proactively.

This Preg-a-thon aims to provide an excellent opportunity for participants to learn working in new environments as well as meeting and networking with local and global healthcare professionals.

Danat Al Emarat Preg-a-thon aims to bring the Abu Dhabi Health Ecosystem together to find innovative solutions around a systemic problem facing the system, focusing on identified pillars. During the hackathon, team players will work together to create realistic solutions and build a prototype to help manage pregnancy complications.

1. Where is it?
Virtual (Microsoft Teams).

2. Who can attend?
It is open to all! As long as you’re prepared to learn, brainstorm, and build cool things, we welcome you to join. We encourage participants to form teams of up to 5 people.

3. How much does it cost?
It is free for all admitted participants.

4. Can I work on past projects?
No. All projects must be started from scratch at the event

5. What can I create?
You can build whatever your heart desires, whether it’s a web app, mobile app, or an open-source tool.

6. What if I don’t have a team?
Not to worry! We’ll have a team-formation session prior to the hackathon through the website channels.

7. What is the final Prize?
21,000 AED for the 1st Winner Group.
