2025 Newborns at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in 13 Months – of which 1387 were UAE Nationals

Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi Celebrates the 1st Birthday of the first 50 Babies Born at the Hospital
*51 Cases of Multiple Pregnancies were followed up and gave birth at Danat Al Emarat Hospital

15 December 2016: Celebrating the first birthday of their first 50 babies, Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi announced that 2025 have been delivered at the hospital since the first registered birth on 28 October 2015; of which 1387 were UAE Nationals. Boys accounted for 1052 while girls were 973 of the total number. The hospital also announced that 48 pairs of Twins, 2 cases of Triplets and 1 case of Quadruplets were delivered in the past 13 months.

A special celebration for the first 50 babies born at Danat Al Emarat who recently turned 1 year old was organized and attended by the babies, their families, the hospital management, a number of obstetricians, pediatricians and nurses. The hospital distributed memorable gifts to the 27 boys and 23 girls who gathered on this very special occasion.

Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, CEO of United Eastern Medical Services said, “Newborns at Danat Al Emarat Hospital exceeded 2025 in 13 months, an evident of the growth of the hospital’s various departments offering advanced health services for women and children. Over 65% of the newborns were UAE Nationals.”

Vino Nallaya, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital, “Due to the expertise of our physicians, and the establishment of a comprehensive fetal medicine unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU Level III), our Obstetrics Department manages a high volume of high-risk pregnancies and many multiple pregnancy cases, thus having 48 pair of twins since the hospital opened. 150 of our total newborns were either premature or unwell, and needed to stay for few days or weeks at the NICU.”
She added, “the hospital encompasses 10 delivery rooms, and 20 NICU beds equipped with state of the art equipment, 6 of which are for delivering level III services, and 9 beds for level II services. One of the smallest newborns weighed 1100 grams and was born during the 28th week of pregnancy.”

At the celebration, one of the fathers said, “We are truly thankful to Allah and to the team at Danat Al Emarat Hospital, who took care of my wife and my baby last year. My boy is now growing day by day, and is being followed up at the pediatrics department in the hospital. They have one file for him, with all the information since he was born which gives us more confident – from vaccinations to regular checkups and when he feels unwell.”
